When it’s time to shop for and select an indoor bike trainer, it quickly becomes clear that there are many options on the market. At Cycle Néron, we primarily carry three brands of trainers that we believe offer the best quality.
After that, the choice is yours! Here are a few questions to ask yourself before shopping: What level of power are you looking for? What maximum incline percentage would you like to simulate? What’s your budget? Do you want a smart trainer? Your answers will help guide your search. To assist you, we’re presenting the Garmin, Wahoo, and Elite brands today.
Garmin (Tacx)
Garmin bike trainers are designed to help cyclists improve performance, track progress, and optimize their training. The brand offers a variety of features tailored to different skill levels, from beginners to experienced cyclists.
One major advantage of Garmin trainers is their compatibility with Garmin bike computers. If you already own one, you can easily connect it to your trainer!
Most Garmin trainers also connect to a wide range of sensors and devices to provide a complete training experience. For instance, Garmin trainers are compatible with third-party platforms like Strava and Zwift for more detailed progress tracking and access to external training plans.
Garmin also has its own training software for Tacx products. With the Tacx training app, you’ll find a comprehensive library of training tutorials, structured programs, and GPS-based workouts. Various structured training programs are also available, adapted to your fitness level.

Wahoo (Kickr)
Wahoo is another well-known brand in the cycling world, particularly for its indoor training devices and accessories. Like Garmin, Wahoo offers a range of products that help cyclists enhance performance, monitor progress, and personalize their training experience, with a unique focus on simplicity, connectivity, and third-party platform compatibility.
Wahoo offers several trainer models that enable cyclists to train indoors while simulating a realistic on-road experience. These trainers are often compatible with virtual training platforms like Zwift or Strava.
The Wahoo KICKR is Wahoo’s flagship model, recognized for its accuracy, stability, and high-quality resistance. It can simulate inclines of up to 20% and is compatible with most virtual training platforms. The KICKR is also compatible with power meters, allowing precise measurement of the effort exerted.

Elite
Elite indoor cycling products are renowned for their quality, performance, and ease of use. Elite offers trainers and compatible accessories, as well as technologies and tools designed to help cyclists optimize performance during at-home training sessions.
There are several trainer models, each with specific features tailored to different types of cyclists and practices. These trainers fall into two main categories: magnetic or fluid resistance trainers and direct-drive (smart) trainers. The first option is generally more affordable and provides gradual resistance during training (e.g., the Elite Novo Force). The second option includes more advanced, interactive models that connect to virtual cycling apps like Zwift and Strava, allowing you to ride virtual routes, join races, and analyze performance data in real time.
Flagship models include the Elite Arion and Elite Tuo. These devices are equipped with built-in sensors to measure power, cadence, and sometimes heart rate. They can also simulate inclines for an even more realistic training experience.
